Deleting your account

You can delete your Mortgage Meadow account yourself, at any time, without asking us. It takes effect immediately and it cannot be undone.

In the app

Open Settings (the gear on the dashboard), scroll to Your account, and tap Delete my account. You’ll be asked to confirm.

On the website

Sign in, open the Backup card on the Mortgage Meadow page, and choose Delete my account.

Or ask us

Email hello@charnette.io from the address on the account. We’ll delete it within 30 days and confirm when it’s done.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and the email address on it.
  • Your encrypted backup, in full. (We could never read it — your figures are encrypted on your own device before they reach us and we hold no key.)
  • Your subscription record, which is what tells the app you have Pro.
  • The copy on the device you delete from, if you use the in-app route.

What we keep, and why

Records of a purchase — what was bought, when, and for how much — for six years from the end of the accounting period. We’re required to keep those for tax and company law, so that obligation outlives the account. It is a small set of billing data, not the contents of your account, and it is used for nothing else.

Two things worth doing first

Export your figures if you want to keep them. In the app, Pro tools → Export payments. Once the account is gone we cannot produce them — not because we won’t, but because the only copy we held was encrypted with a key we never had.

Cancel your subscription separately. Deleting your account does not cancel it, because Apple, Google and Stripe each own that billing relationship and we cannot end it on your behalf. Cancel in Google Play → Subscriptions, in Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions, or through the billing portal if you subscribed on this website. Delete the account without cancelling and you would carry on being charged for something you can no longer sign in to.
